Revelation executive producer Kevin Smith is well-steeped in pop culture, and including a references to the live-action movie might have been too much to resist. Revelation finds the right way to poke fun at it without once losing its affection.

The entire episode first season of Masters of the Universe: Revelation is now available on Netflix. Had no idea of the impact of the TV show in my neighborhood until it all ended by Wow, it was like the sun had gone dim!

Even I felt like the world seemed gloomy without all those characters I had grown to love so much, and I was old even in the early 80's. Events since the movie have proved what everyone suspected, all the planning for the movie took place before the Filmation cartoon series had ever aired!

Many of the elements that made the cartoon so special were no where to be seen in the movie. It appears that the comics, TV series and movie planning all happened about the same time with each developing in an almost independent manner. Nothing wrong with that except I felt it left the movie kinda "flat". Lots of positive reviews on this movie across the web. By now many RJ members know that I like a bit of campy humor along with my adventure, so I was a little disappointed by what was an otherwise great movie.
